Setup:
- Unpack: Remove the Magic Keyboard and the included woven USB-C Charge Cable from its packaging.
- Charge (Optional Initial): For first-time use or if the battery is low, connect one end of the USB-C Charge Cable to the keyboard's USB-C port and the other end to a USB-C port on your Mac or a USB-C power adapter.
- Pairing:
- Ensure your Mac is turned on and Bluetooth is active.
- Connect the Magic Keyboard to your Mac using the USB-C Charge Cable. This automatically pairs the keyboard with your Mac.
- Once paired, you can disconnect the cable to use it wirelessly.
- Follow any on-screen prompts for keyboard setup in macOS System Settings.
- Touch ID Setup: Go to `System Settings` > `Touch ID & Passcode` on your Mac to add your fingerprints for secure authentication.
Compatibility:
This Magic Keyboard is designed for Mac computers with an Apple silicon chip and running macOS Big Sur (11.0) or later, including Monterey (12.0), Ventura (13.0), and Sonoma (14.0). While it can connect to other Bluetooth-enabled devices, `Touch ID` functionality is exclusively available on compatible Mac models.
Care:
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the keyboard with a soft, lint-free cloth. For tougher spots, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Battery: To prolong battery life, avoid exposing the keyboard to extreme temperatures. Recharge when prompted by your Mac or when the battery indicator light turns amber.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the keyboard in a dry, safe place.
- Cable Care: Handle the woven USB-C Charge Cable carefully to prevent fraying or damage.
