Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: This tool requires no setup. It is ready for use out of the box. Ensure the wire gauge falls within the specified range of 0.5-6mm² (AWG 22-10) for optimal performance of the stripping mechanism.
Compatibility: Compatible with solid and stranded copper and aluminum wires within the 0.5-6mm² (AWG 22-10) range for stripping and cutting. The crimping function is generally compatible with common insulated terminals within this gauge range, though specific terminal types may require testing for best results.
Care:
- Cleaning: After use, wipe the blades and stripping mechanism with a dry cloth to remove debris. For stubborn residue, use a lightly dampened cloth and ensure the tool is dried thoroughly afterward.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of light machine oil to the pivot points to ensure smooth operation.
- Storage: Store the tool in a dry environment to prevent rust. Ensure the jaws are closed or protected when not in use.
- Blade Maintenance: Avoid cutting materials harder than wire, such as steel cable or screws, as this can dull or damage the hardened steel blades.
