Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure boots are laced securely but comfortably. Start lacing from the bottom eyelets, pulling snugly but not too tightly. Double knot for security during play.
- Break-in Period: Like most new footwear, these boots may require a short break-in period. Wear them for light training sessions or short periods before playing a full match to allow them to conform to your foot shape.
Compatibility
These PUMA Future 7 Play boots feature an FG/AG outsole, meaning they are compatible with both:
- Firm Ground (FG): Natural grass pitches that are not excessively wet or muddy.
- Artificial Grass (AG): Modern synthetic turf surfaces.
Avoid using these boots on hard indoor courts or very abrasive surfaces, as this can damage the studs and reduce their effectiveness.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Use: Immediately after playing, wipe off any mud or dirt with a damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a soft brush. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Remove insoles if possible and allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them directly on heaters or in direct sunlight, as this can cause the material to crack or stiffen.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place, ideally with boot trees or crumpled newspaper inside to maintain their shape.
- Odor Control: If odors develop, use an anti-odor spray or sprinkle baking soda inside the boots and leave overnight.
