FAQs

What is the assembly process like?

The bed frame is designed for straightforward assembly. Specific instructions are included, and it's often recommended to have two people assist, particularly for larger sizes. Some configurations offer flatpack options for easier handling.

Does the bed frame come with a mattress?

No, the mattress is sold separately. The frame is designed to accommodate standard UK mattress sizes.

How do I choose the right fabric and color?

You can select from Sloomy’s fabric ranges: Plush Velvet, Naples, Coniston, and Dumfries. These ranges offer a diverse palette from subtle neutrals to vibrant statement colors to best suit your personal décor.

What sizes are available?

The Sofia Bed Frame is available in a wide range of sizes, including 2FT6 Small Single, 3FT Single, 4FT Small Double, 4FT6 Double, 5FT King Size, and 6FT Super King.

Can I customize the bed frame?

Yes, each bed is custom-made to order, allowing you to choose your preferred size, fabric, and color from the available options to tailor it to your style and needs.

What are the dimensions of the footboard?

The bed frame includes a matching 21-inch footboard for a coordinated and complete look.

How should I clean the upholstery?

Regular vacuuming with an upholstery attachment is recommended. For specific cleaning, refer to the care instructions for your chosen fabric range. Generally, spot cleaning with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent is advisable.

Troubleshooting

Bed frame squeaks or rattles

Ensure all bolts and fixings are securely tightened. Check that the mattress is correctly positioned and not shifting.

Slats appear uneven or loose

Verify that the central support beam is correctly installed and that all slats are properly seated within their designated channels or holders.

Difficulty aligning parts during assembly

Double-check the assembly manual for the correct orientation of parts. Loosen some fixings temporarily to allow for adjustment, then re-tighten once aligned.

Upholstery appears creased upon arrival

Allow the fabric to settle for a day or two. Gentle steaming from a distance (following fabric care guidelines) may help remove stubborn creases.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: The Sofia Bed Frame is designed for straightforward assembly. Depending on the configuration chosen, it may involve attaching the headboard and footboard to the side rails and fitting the support slats. Detailed instructions are provided with each frame. It is recommended to have a second person assist with assembly, especially for larger sizes.

Compatibility: This bed frame is compatible with standard UK mattress sizes. It is designed to accommodate a mattress directly on the provided slats, offering excellent ventilation. The frame itself does not include a mattress; this must be purchased separately.

Care: To maintain the appearance of your upholstered bed frame, regularly vacuum the fabric using an upholstery attachment to remove dust and debris. For spills or stains, consult the specific care instructions for your chosen fabric range (Plush Velvet, Naples, Coniston, Dumfries). Generally, spot cleaning with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent is recommended, followed by air drying. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
