Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting started with your De'Longhi Eletta Explore and keeping it in top condition is straightforward.
Setup
- Unboxing & Placement: Carefully remove all packaging. Place the machine on a stable, level surface, away from heat sources and splashes. Ensure there's enough space around it for ventilation and access to the water tank and bean hopper.
- Initial Rinse: Follow the on-screen prompts for an initial rinse cycle to prime the machine and clean internal components.
- Water Hardness Test: Use the provided strip to test your water hardness and input the result into the machine's settings. This optimizes descaling intervals.
- Wi-Fi & App Connection: Download the dedicated De'Longhi Coffee Link app. Follow the app's instructions to connect your machine to your home Wi-Fi network for remote control and additional features.
- Fill & Go: Fill the water tank with fresh water and the bean hopper with your favorite whole coffee beans. You're now ready to brew!
Compatibility
- Coffee Beans: Designed for whole coffee beans. It's recommended to use quality beans for the best results with Bean Adapt Technology.
- Mug Sizes: The Automatic To-Go system accommodates travel mugs and cups up to 16cm tall.
- Water Filters: Compatible with De'Longhi water filters (often included or sold separately) to reduce limescale buildup.
Care & Maintenance
- Daily Cleaning: Empty and rinse the drip tray and coffee grounds container daily. Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth.
- Milk System Cleaning: After each milk-based drink, the machine will prompt a quick rinse of the milk carafe. Perform a thorough cleaning of the LatteCrema system regularly (as per machine instructions), leveraging the dishwasher-safe components for ease.
- Descaling: The machine will alert you when descaling is required. Use De'Longhi descaler and follow the on-screen instructions precisely. Regular descaling is crucial for machine longevity and coffee quality.
- Brew Unit: The brew unit should be removed and rinsed with lukewarm water periodically, typically once a month, as guided by the manual.
- Dishwasher-Safe Components: The milk carafe components and drip tray grille are designed to be dishwasher-safe, simplifying their cleaning process.
