FAQs

Is the Orla Mac suitable for heavy rain?

Yes, with an ISOTEX 15000 rating, it is designed to handle significant rainfall while remaining breathable.

What material is the jacket made from?

It is constructed from 100% durable and lightweight polyester.

How should I clean my jacket?

Machine wash on a delicate cycle without fabric softener and air dry.

Is the hood adjustable?

The jacket features a protective hood designed to keep you dry, though specific adjustment mechanisms depend on the current season's cut.

Can I wear a thick jumper underneath?

The jacket is cut in a streamlined shape, so while you can wear a light sweater, an extremely bulky jumper may feel tight.

Is this jacket windproof?

The ISOTEX membrane is inherently wind-resistant, providing an excellent barrier against chilly gusts.

Troubleshooting

Water begins to soak into the fabric

The DWR finish may have worn off; wash the jacket and apply a fresh waterproof reproofing treatment.

Feeling damp inside the jacket

This may be caused by condensation if the interior layers are non-breathable or if the external humidity is extreme; try wearing moisture-wicking base layers.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • High waterproof rating (ISOTEX 15000)
  • Lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear
  • Stylish, modern aesthetic compared to traditional rain gear
  • Highly breathable fabric for temperature regulation

Cons

  • Not intended for heavy-duty alpine expeditions
  • Specific print patterns may not suit all minimalist wardrobes
  • Streamlined cut may feel restrictive if layered with very thick sweaters

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To maintain the performance of the Regatta Orla Mac, follow these care guidelines:

  1. Cleaning: Machine wash on a gentle cycle using a technical fabric cleaner or mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners as they can clog the pores of the waterproof membrane.
  2. Drying: Air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators to protect the integrity of the polyester material.
  3. Reproofing: Over time, if water stops beading on the surface, use a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) spray to refresh the outer coating.
  4. Storage: Hang the jacket in a cool, dry closet on a sturdy hanger to maintain its clean shape and prevent unnecessary creasing.
