Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Measure Your Window: Before purchasing, accurately measure the width of your window and the desired curtain drop. For optimal light blocking, the curtain width should be 1.5 to 2 times the width of your window or curtain rod.
- Install Curtain Rod: Ensure you have a sturdy curtain rod (diameter suitable for eyelets) installed securely above your window frame. Extend the rod 6-12 inches beyond the window frame on each side to help block light bleed.
- Hang Curtains: Simply slide the eyelet rings onto your curtain rod. Distribute the fabric evenly between the eyelets to achieve an attractive, uniform drape.
Compatibility
These eyelet blackout curtains are compatible with most standard curtain rods. Their heavy weight means a robust rod is recommended to prevent sagging.
Care
These curtains are designed for 'easy care'. While specific instructions will be on the product label, generally, for heavyweight thermal curtains:
- Washing: Hand washing or machine washing on a delicate cycle with cold water is often recommended. Avoid harsh detergents.
- Drying: Air dry or tumble dry on a very low heat setting to prevent shrinking or damage to the thermal lining. Avoid high heat.
- Ironing: If necessary, iron on a low heat setting on the reverse side. Avoid direct heat on the thermal lining or shiny surface.
- Maintenance: Regularly dust or vacuum the curtains with a brush attachment to prevent dust buildup. Spot clean small stains immediately.
> Info needed: Always refer to the specific care label attached to your Dreamscene Eyelet Blackout Curtains for precise washing and drying instructions.
