TP-Link RE220BE - BE3600

Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) is the latest Wi-Fi standard, offering significantly higher speeds, lower latency, and improved capacity compared to previous generations. This means faster downloads, smoother streaming of high-resolution content, more responsive online gaming, and better performance for numerous connected devices simultaneously.

While the RE220BE supports Wi-Fi 7, it can also extend the coverage of Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 5, and older routers. However, to experience the full speed and performance benefits of Wi-Fi 7, it is recommended to pair it with a Wi-Fi 7 compatible router.

To set up EasyMesh, ensure your main router is also EasyMesh compatible. Use the TP-Link Tether app to add the RE220BE to your existing EasyMesh network. The app will guide you through the process, creating a single, unified network with seamless roaming.

The RE220BE is a BE3600 class extender. This means it offers a combined dual-band speed of up to 3.6 Gbps, with up to 688 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and up to 2882 Mbps on the 5 GHz band.

Yes, the RE220BE features a 1 Gbps Ethernet port. You can connect devices like computers, smart TVs, or gaming consoles to this port for a stable, high-speed wired internet connection.

The effective range depends on your environment, including wall materials and interference. Generally, place it halfway between your router and the dead zone. For optimal performance, ensure the extender itself receives a strong signal from your router.

Locate the reset button on the extender (usually a small pinhole). Use a paperclip or similar tool to press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds while the device is powered on. The LEDs will flash, indicating it has reset.

Ensure the extender is placed within the optimal range of the router. Verify that you are using the correct Wi-Fi password. Try restarting both the router and the extender, then attempt the setup process again.

Check the signal strength indicator on the extender. Relocate the extender closer to the router if the signal is weak. Ensure the extender's firmware is up to date. If using the wired port, test the connection directly from the router to rule out ISP issues.

Make sure your smartphone is connected to the same network as the extender. Verify you have the latest version of the Tether app installed. Restart your smartphone and the extender.

This typically occurs when not using EasyMesh pairing. To achieve a single Wi-Fi name, ensure both your router and the extender are EasyMesh compatible and have been set up as an EasyMesh network via the Tether app.
