Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Nike Premier 3 FG boots is straightforward:
- Lacing: Use the traditional lacing system to achieve a secure and comfortable fit. Experiment with different lacing patterns to find what works best for your foot shape.
- Break-in Period: As these are leather boots, they will feel snug initially. Wear them for a few short sessions (e.g., training drills, light jogging) before full-intensity matches to allow the leather to mold to your feet. This will significantly enhance comfort and prevent blisters.
Compatibility
- Surface Type: These boots are designed exclusively for Firm Ground (FG). This means natural grass pitches that are dry or slightly damp. They are not recommended for Artificial Ground (AG) or Soft Ground (SG) surfaces. Using them on inappropriate surfaces can lead to premature wear, reduced performance, and potential injury.
- Foot Type: The leather upper is highly adaptable, making these boots suitable for a wide range of foot types, including slightly wider feet, once broken in.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Use: Immediately after each use, wipe off dirt and mud with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh detergents or put them in a washing machine.
- Leather Conditioning: Periodically apply a specialized leather conditioner or cream to keep the leather soft and prevent it from drying out and cracking.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can damage the leather.
- Storage: Store them in a cool, dry place, ideally with boot trees or crumpled newspaper inside to maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly check the studs for wear or damage. Clean any debris from between the studs.
