Setup, Compatibility & Care
Planting: Choose a sunny spot with well-drained soil. Avoid areas prone to waterlogging. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball and backfill with soil, firming gently. Water thoroughly after planting.
Compatibility: This shrub thrives in most garden soils, provided they are well-drained. It is compatible with other sun-loving, drought-tolerant plants.
Care: Ceanothus 'Blue Mound' is generally low-maintenance. Water regularly during the first year to help it establish. Once established, it is quite drought-tolerant. Pruning is usually minimal; light trimming can be done after flowering to maintain shape if necessary. Remove any dead or damaged branches in spring.
