Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Adjust Straps: Before entering the water, place the buoyancy aid over your head. Secure the three buckles, ensuring they are snug but not uncomfortably tight.
- Fasten Crotch Strap: Attach and adjust the crotch strap. This is crucial for preventing the vest from riding up, especially in the water. Ensure it is secure.
- Check Fit: Move around to confirm the aid fits snugly and does not restrict essential movement for your intended activity.
Compatibility:
This buoyancy aid is designed for personal flotation during specific watersports, including:
- Kayaking
- Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP)
- Dinghy Sailing
- Canoeing
It is certified to EN ISO 12402-5 standards for Type 4 (50N) personal flotation devices. It is not intended for high-speed powerboats, towing, or activities requiring higher buoyancy ratings (e.g., Type 6/100N or higher).
Care:
- Rinse After Use: After each use, rinse the buoyancy aid thoroughly with fresh water to remove salt, sand, or chlorine.
- Washing: Hand wash with mild soap and cold water if necessary. Do not use bleach or harsh detergents.
- Drying: Hang dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, which can degrade the fabric and buoyancy material. Ensure it is completely dry before storing.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid compressing it for extended periods, as this can damage the foam.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the fabric, buckles, and straps for any signs of wear, tear, or damage. Do not use if damaged.
