FAQs
What is Nike Shox technology?
Nike Shox technology uses resilient, flexible columns with moderator plates integrated into the sole. These columns provide outstanding cushioning by absorbing impact upon footfall and then rebounding, delivering an energetic and responsive feel.
Are these shoes suitable for running?
The Nike Shox TL offers excellent cushioning for everyday wear and casual activities, including walking and light urban use. While they provide good impact absorption, for dedicated high-performance running or specialized athletic training, specifically designed running shoes might offer more tailored support, flexibility, and weight distribution.
How do I clean my Nike Shox TL shoes?
Gently clean the mesh upper and TPU cage with a soft brush or cloth and a mild soap diluted in cool water. Wipe away any soap residue with a damp cloth. For the rubber outsole, a firmer brush can remove dirt. Always air dry your shoes completely away from direct heat.
Are Nike Shox TL true to size?
The Nike Shox TL generally fits true to size. However, the snug fit provided by the molded overlays and full TPU cage might feel firm initially. If you are typically between sizes or prefer a slightly looser fit, consider trying a half size up.
What types of surfaces are these shoes best for?
Thanks to their non-marking, solid rubber modified Waffle outsole, these shoes provide great traction and durability on a variety of urban and indoor surfaces, such as pavements, gym floors, and light outdoor paths.
Do these shoes offer good ankle support?
The combination upper with a full TPU cage and molded overlays provides a secure and supportive fit around the midfoot and contributes to overall stability. While they offer good foundational support, they are not specifically designed as high-ankle support shoes.
Troubleshooting
Shoe feels too tight or rigid.
Ensure correct sizing. The Shox TL features a full TPU cage and molded overlays for a snug, supportive fit, which may feel firm initially. Allow for a break-in period to allow the materials to conform to your foot.
Reduced cushioning feel over time.
While Shox technology is designed for durability, prolonged heavy use or improper storage can affect its resilience. Regularly clean the shoes and avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures or prolonged compression, which can impact the Shox columns.
Foot odor or discomfort during long wear.
The breathable mesh upper helps with ventilation, but ensure you wear appropriate moisture-wicking socks. For persistent issues, use shoe deodorizers and allow shoes to air out thoroughly between wears to prevent moisture buildup.

Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the appearance of your Nike Shox TL:
- Cleaning the Upper: Gently wipe the mesh upper and TPU cage with a soft cloth or brush moistened with a small amount of mild soap diluted in cool water. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Cleaning the Outsole: For the rubber outsole, a stiffer brush can be used to remove dirt and debris. Rinse with water.
- Drying: Always air dry your shoes away from direct heat sources (like radiators or direct sunlight), as excessive heat can damage materials. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid storing them in plastic bags as this can trap moisture.
- Reflective Details: Avoid aggressive scrubbing on reflective areas to prevent damage.
Following these care instructions will help keep your Nike Shox TL looking fresh and performing its best.
