FAQs

Is this jacket machine washable?

Yes, it can be machine washed at low temperatures with mild detergent.

Can I use fabric softener when washing?

No, fabric softeners can damage the breathable membrane and the water-repellent finish.

Is the Ablaze jacket waterproof?

It is water repellent, meaning it handles light rain well, but it is not a fully waterproof coat.

What is the weight of the fabric?

The jacket is made from 265gsm polyester fabric.

Is this suitable for corporate branding?

Yes, the fabric is specifically designed to be printable and suitable for personalization.

Troubleshooting

Water is no longer beading on the surface.

The Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish may have worn off; wash the garment and apply a re-proofing spray designed for softshell fabrics.

Jacket feels damp during heavy rain.

The jacket is water repellent, not fully waterproof. It is intended for light showers; for heavy or sustained rain, wear a waterproof shell over the top.

Pros and Cons

Requires proper care to maintain water repellency

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your Regatta Ablaze jacket, follow these care instructions: wash at a low temperature (typically 30 or 40 degrees Celsius) using a technical fabric cleaner or mild detergent. Avoid using fabric softeners, as these can compromise the water-repellent finish. To maintain the DWR properties over time, you may need to re-apply a DWR spray treatment after several washes if you notice water no longer beads on the surface. This jacket features a 'printable' fabric surface, making it compatible with corporate branding or personalization via screen printing or embroidery if used in a work environment.
