Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Surface Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of any existing loose paint, rust, or contaminants. Sand the surface lightly to create a key for the paint to adhere to.
- Priming: Prime bare metal or timber surfaces with an appropriate primer designed for alkyd paints. This will improve adhesion and provide a uniform base.
- Application: Apply Miranol using a brush, roller, or spray, following the manufacturer's recommended techniques for each method. Apply thin, even coats to avoid drips and ensure a smooth finish.
- Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area to allow solvent fumes to escape. Wear a respirator if necessary.
- Recoating: Allow 24 hours between coats. Lightly sand the surface between coats to remove any imperfections.
- Cleaning: Clean brushes and rollers with a suitable solvent, such as white spirit.
Compatibility: Tikkurila Miranol is compatible with most alkyd primers. Always check the compatibility of primers and topcoats before application.
