Tikkurila Otex Akva is a water-based primer and intermediate coat suitable for both new and previously painted surfaces. It offers excellent adhesion to challenging materials such as glass, tile, fiberglass, melamine, PVC plastic, aluminum, and zinc-coated sheet metal, as well as surfaces coated with alkyd and acid-curing paint. This primer is also effective on wood, wood fiber board, chipboard, and metal surfaces in dry interior environments. Please note, it is not recommended for the maintenance painting of surfaces treated with nitrocellulose lacquer. For optimal application, use a brush, roller, or spray on a clean, dry surface. Otex Akva dries quickly, creating a solid foundation for subsequent topcoats for a smooth, long-lasting finish. It can also be tinted to pastel shades to enhance topcoat opacity.
