Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The Corona 2 Door Cupboard Unit requires self-assembly. All necessary hardware and instructions are included in the package.
- Unpack Carefully: Lay out all components and hardware on a clean, soft surface to prevent scratches. Check against the parts list to ensure everything is present.
- Follow Instructions: Adhere strictly to the step-by-step assembly guide provided. It's often helpful to have a second person assist, especially during the frame construction and door attachment phases.
- Tools Required: Typically, a Phillips head screwdriver and possibly a hammer (for dowels) will be needed. Ensure your tools are appropriate for the task to avoid damaging the hardware or wood.
- Secure Fastenings: Once assembled, gently tighten all screws and fasteners to ensure stability, but avoid overtightening which can strip the wood.
Compatibility
This cupboard's timeless antique wax pine finish and traditional design make it highly compatible with rustic, farmhouse, traditional, and even transitional interior styles. Its compact dimensions (H110 x W80 x D29.6cm) allow it to fit well in various spaces, including:
- Hallways and entryways
- Living rooms
- Dining rooms
- Home offices or studies (for stationery and document storage)
- Larger bedrooms
Consider the existing color palette and furniture style in your chosen room to ensure it complements the aesthetic.
Care
Proper care will help maintain the beauty and longevity of your Corona cupboard:
- Cleaning: Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, lightly dampen a cloth with water and wipe down, then immediately dry with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or strong chemicals, which can damage the antique wax finish.
- Protecting the Finish: Use coasters or mats under items placed on the top surface to prevent rings and scratches.
- Sunlight Exposure: Position the unit away from direct, prolonged sunlight, which can cause the wood finish to fade or change color over time.
- Humidity: Maintain stable room humidity. Extreme fluctuations can cause wood to expand or contract.
- Minor Scratches: For small blemishes on the antique wax finish, specialist wax furniture polish or touch-up crayons designed for waxed pine can be used. Always test in an inconspicuous area first.
