Callaway’s quest to create a wedge naturally producing these dynamics, beginning with the OPUS Platinum, takes a massive step forward in the new OPUS SP. To exceed the Platinum’s capabilities, which were achieved through simply affixing a tungsten weight to the topline, Callaway engineered an all-new Spin Pocket. Located behind the face, the Spin Pocket strategically redistributes weight higher in the head, optimizing the center of gravity. The result is a lower, more penetrating launch yielding unreal spin and stopping power, making the OPUS SP ideal for executing difficult shots, especially when “flighting” the ball, attacking tight pins, or playing in windy conditions. In addition to its cutting-edge construction, the OPUS SP boasts Callaway’s most advanced wedge face to date. Known as Spin Gen 2.0, this new design includes a 17-degree groove angle with tighter pitch spacing and a deeper laser-etched face pattern, which combine to enhance friction and spin on approach shots of all lengths and types. The proof is in the pudding, as Callaway’s testing shows measurably improved spin compared to the original OPUS, highlighted by an astonishing 56% increase on 30-yard pitch shots. Callaway OPUS SP Brushed Chrome Wedges - Feature: Designed for players seeking to flight the ball lower, increase spin, and maximize control, especially from scoring distances Tour-validated Shape 6 profile offers precise leading edge shaping and refined sole geometry (progressive gap wedge shaping to blend with modern iron sets seamlessly) Spin Pocket technology, comprising a re-engineered 2-piece construction design that strategically reshapes mass to optimize CG locations higher in the head, promotes a lower, more penetrating launch resulting in more spin and enhanced control New Spin Gen 2.0 face, including a new 17° groove angle with tighter pitch spacing and a deeper cross-hatch laser pattern, produces enhanced friction and increased and more consistent spin on all shots 5 Available grinds T Grind: Tour inspired for precise shotmaking C Grind: Maximum versatility for skilled players X Grind: Versatility with bounce S Grind: A grind for every situation W Grind: Wide sole for maximum forgiveness Stock Shaft: Dynamic Gold S200 (120g) Stock Grip: Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 Authorised Callaway Retailer Callaway Opus SP Black Wedge - Steel The Callaway Opus SP Wedges are engineered for golfers who demand precision, versatility, and maximum control in their short game.
