Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Adizero Evo SL shoes is straightforward:
- Lacing: Use the traditional lace-up closure to achieve a snug but comfortable fit. Experiment with different lacing techniques (e.g., runner's knot) to optimize security and alleviate pressure points if needed.
- Break-In Period: While often comfortable out of the box, it's advisable to wear them for a few shorter runs before tackling your longest distances to allow them to conform to your foot.
Compatibility
- Running Surfaces: Best suited for road running and track workouts. They offer excellent traction on asphalt, concrete, and synthetic track surfaces. While the Continental™ rubber provides good grip, they are not designed for rugged trail running.
- Socks: Pair with high-quality running socks that wick moisture to prevent blisters and enhance overall comfort.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your shoes:
- Cleaning: Hand wash only. Use a mild soap (like dish soap) mixed with cold water and a soft brush or cloth to gently scrub dirty areas. Avoid harsh detergents or bleach.
- Rinsing: Rinse thoroughly with cold water to remove all soap residue.
- Drying: Air dry your shoes at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or heat sources (like radiators or dryers). Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, as this can degrade materials.
- Rotation: If you run frequently, consider rotating them with another pair of running shoes to allow the foam to fully decompress and extend their lifespan.
