PUMA's Mostro captured the speculative essence of a rapidly approaching new age when it first debuted back in 1999. The 'For All Time Red' mesh and textile upper is made of resilient yet stretchy material which provides a seamless wrapping sensation, while Velcro straps keep you locked-in and 'PUMA Silver' Formstrips highlight the sidewalls. Underfoot, OrthoLite midsole cushioning coupled with a futuristic spiked rubber sole unit inspired by running spikes keeps you clasped down comfortably. Taking its name from the Italian word for 'monster', PUMA brings back the Mostro from its archives. First launched in 1999, the unconventional low-profile silhouette is a diverse blend of racing-style spikes and surf shoes. The upper is covered in bold red textile with a synthetic silver Formstrip marking the sidewall and a zigzag Velcro strap closure. Rubber spikes reach up from the grippy outsole, and a rubberised heel patch displays the PUMA Cat logo to finish. Mostro isn’t a shoe for just anyone. For over two decades it’s been worn by those who defy conventions and eschew the norm. Taking its name from the Italian word for monster, Mostro is a hybrid creation that draws from two diverse realms: the sleek sprinting spikes of the ‘60s and the surfing shoes of the ‘80s. To this day it continues to captivate with its distinctive, sculptural design, low-profile shape, and avant-garde, spiked sole.
