This Dare 2b Switch Out III jacket is designed for adult males seeking reliable protection during changeable outdoor conditions, particularly for hiking and mountain terrain. Its key benefit is the ARED 20/30 waterproof and breathable fabric, offering robust defense against rain and wind while ensuring comfort. A potential consideration is that while engineered for movement, the jacket's articulation is focused on critical points, which might feel restrictive during highly dynamic activities for some users.

AEP KINEMATICS is engineered to provide unrestricted movement and enhanced comfort by using stretch fabric and an ergonomic design with articulation at key points, allowing for greater agility during active use.
The ARED 20/30 fabric offers a high level of waterproof protection with a 30,000mm water column rating, meaning it can withstand significant water pressure before leaking.
The jacket provides windproof protection, which helps against windchill. For very cold weather, it is designed to be layered over base and mid-layers for insulation.
Yes, the jacket features a detachable performance-fit technical hood with adjusters and a wired peak.
The jacket is made from a blend of 75% recycled polyester and 25% polyester stretch fabric.
Machine wash at 30°C with liquid detergent, do not bleach, and tumble dry on low heat. It's important to close all zips and fasteners before washing and wash separately. Re-apply DWR treatment periodically if needed.
PFAS compliant means the water-repellent treatments used on the fabric do not contain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, which are considered more environmentally friendly alternatives.
Ensure all seams are taped and the DWR finish is intact. Re-apply a DWR treatment if the fabric appears to be 'wetting out'. Check that waterproof zips are fully closed.
Ensure the internal environment is not too warm. Open zips or remove layers if necessary. Check that the fabric's breathability isn't compromised by dirt; clean according to care instructions.
Adjust the hood's adjusters and the wired peak to better fit your head shape and direct water away from your face.
Gently clean the zipper teeth with a small brush and water. Apply a silicone-based lubricant or wax sparingly if needed. Avoid forcing the zipper.
Setup: This jacket requires no assembly. Simply unpack and wear. Ensure all zips are fully closed and adjust the cuffs and hem for a snug fit.
Compatibility: Designed for adult males, the jacket is intended for outdoor activities. It can be layered over base layers and mid-layers for added warmth.
