Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
This cape coat requires no complex setup. Simply unpackage and hang it to allow any creases from shipping to naturally fall out. A light steaming can help refresh the fabric before its first wear.
Compatibility
- Apparel: Pairs seamlessly with formal dresses (mini to midi length), tailored jumpsuits, and elegant separates such as wide-leg trousers or pencil skirts.
- Footwear: Best complemented by strappy heels, pointed-toe pumps, or elegant ankle boots.
- Accessories: Finish your look with a structured handbag, delicate jewelry, and perhaps a fascinator or elegant hat for race day events.
Care Instructions
Given the coat's wool material and decorative jewelled buttons, proper care is crucial to maintain its pristine condition:
- Professional Dry Cleaning: Due to the wool content and delicate embellishments, professional dry cleaning is highly recommended. Spot cleaning at home is generally not advised.
- Storage: When not in use, hang the coat on a broad-shouldered hanger in a breathable garment bag to help retain its shape and protect it from dust. Avoid folding for extended periods to prevent creases.
- Spot Cleaning (Emergency Only): For minor, immediate spills, gently blot with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub, as this can spread the stain or damage the fabric. Consult a professional cleaner as soon as possible.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use bleach or harsh detergents, as they can damage the wool fibers and decorative buttons.
- Steaming: If wrinkled, use a garment steamer on a low setting or hang the coat in a steamy bathroom to gently release creases. Avoid direct ironing if possible; if necessary, use a low heat setting with a pressing cloth.
