Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Determine the preferred installation method (right-angle with side door buckle or flat with metal sheath) based on your door and frame.
- Position the bolt and mark the screw holes.
- Drill pilot holes if necessary, ensuring they are appropriate for the one-way stainless steel screws provided.
- Secure the bolt mechanism and the strike plate/sheath using the supplied screws. The one-way screws should be tightened until snug and difficult to remove.
- Set your desired 4-digit combination by following the internal mechanism's instructions (typically involves aligning dials and actuating a reset lever before closing).
Compatibility:
This locking bolt is designed for most standard doors, gates, cabinets, and sheds that allow for surface mounting of the bolt and strike plate. It is particularly well-suited for wood, metal, and vinyl surfaces. Ensure there is sufficient overlap or frame depth for the bolt to engage securely.
Care:
To maintain performance and appearance, periodically wipe the bolt with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt or grime, use a damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the rust-preventative coating. Periodically check that the combination dials turn smoothly and the bolt retracts and extends freely.
