Setup, Compatibility & Care

Surface Preparation

Careful surface preparation is crucial for optimal results. Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and structurally sound before application.

  • Plaster: New plaster must be at least 4 weeks old. Prime with EVERBUILD PVA diluted 1:3 with water.
  • Plasterboard/Plywood/Chipboard: Brace with seasoned timber at 300mm intervals. Seal all surfaces with EVERBUILD SBR diluted 1:4 with water.
  • Sand/Cement Render: Allow at least four weeks drying time. Prime with EVERBUILD PVA.
  • Brickwork/Blockwork/Concrete Block: Allow at least 4 weeks drying time. Do not fix directly to blockwork.
  • Existing Glazed Tiles/Formica: Roughen the surface with abrasive sander and prime with EVERBUILD PVA diluted 1:1 with water.
  • Painted Surfaces: Ensure the surface is properly prepared.

Application

  1. Apply the adhesive directly from the tub.
  2. Use a notched trowel to spread the adhesive evenly.
  3. Position the tiles and press firmly.
  4. Allow at least 7 days for the adhesive to dry before exposing the tiled area to water.
