Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting your toddler ready in their Vans Old Skool V trainers is straightforward thanks to the rip-tape fastenings.
- Open Fastenings: Fully open both rip-tape straps on each shoe.
- Position Foot: Gently guide your toddler's foot into the shoe, ensuring their heel is seated comfortably at the back.
- Secure Straps: Close the lower strap first, followed by the upper strap, adjusting them to achieve a snug but not overly tight fit. You should be able to slide a finger easily between the strap and your child's foot.
Compatibility
These trainers are specifically designed for toddlers and are available in various UK children's foot sizes (e.g., UK 7, UK 5, UK 4). They are suitable for both boys and girls, despite some variants listing 'Male' or 'Female' gender attributes, the style is universally classic.
Care
Proper care will help maintain the longevity and appearance of the trainers.
- Spot Cleaning: For light dirt, use a soft, damp cloth with mild soap. Gently rub the affected areas. Avoid saturating the materials.
- Suede Care: For suede portions, use a specialized suede brush to remove loose dirt. For stains, a suede eraser can be effective. Avoid using water directly on suede as it can leave marks.
- Canvas Care: For canvas areas, a small amount of laundry detergent mixed with water can be applied with a soft brush, then wiped clean with a damp cloth.
- Drying: Always air dry the shoes away from direct heat or sunlight. Do not put them in a washing machine or dryer.
- Deep Cleaning (Rare): If heavily soiled, a gentle hand wash with cold water and mild detergent might be necessary, but this should be done sparingly to protect the materials.
