URSA CHEST Strap - Black

While designed for direct skin contact, it can be worn over very thin base layers. However, its effectiveness and discretion are maximized when worn directly on the skin.

The main advantage is its reliability on sweaty or hairy chests where tape loses adhesion, and its reusability compared to single-use tapes.

The manual provides guidance, but generally, the thinnest pouch is for mics like the COS11, the middle for common small-diaphragm mics like DPA 4060 with concealers, and the largest for bigger DPA mics or those with larger mounts.

It is recommended to hand wash with a damp cloth. Avoid machine washing or harsh detergents to preserve the integrity of the bonded fabric and gripper.

The 1mm thick fabric is designed to be virtually invisible under tight t-shirts, especially in darker colors like black. However, very thin or light-colored clothing might still reveal a slight outline.

The URSA CHEST Strap is also available in White and Brown color options to better match different skin tones or clothing.

The polyurethane gripper is bonded for durability and designed for repeated use under demanding professional conditions. Proper care will ensure its longevity.

Ensure the gripper side is making good contact with the skin. Adjust the strap for a tighter fit, ensuring it's snug but not uncomfortable. Clean skin may also reduce grip; consider slightly moistening the skin in the contact area if absolutely necessary and feasible.

Verify that the microphone is placed in the correct pouch compartment for its size. If it's between sizes, try the next larger compartment and use additional gaffer tape sparingly to secure the mic body if needed, or consider a different mic mount solution.

Ensure the cable is routed correctly through the keeper. If the cable is too thin, a small piece of gaffer tape can be used to create a thicker point for the keeper to grip.

Loosen the strap slightly. Ensure the edges of the strap are not digging into the skin. Experiment with positioning; sometimes a slight shift in placement can improve comfort.
