Care & Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the appearance of your Converse Run Star Trainers. Given the 61% leather, 33% textile, and 6% other materials for the uppers, and 100% textile lining, specific cleaning methods are recommended.
- General Cleaning: Gently brush off any loose dirt or dust using a soft-bristled brush.
- Spot Cleaning Uppers (Leather & Textile):
- Mix a small amount of mild soap (e.g., dish soap) with lukewarm water.
- Dampen a clean, soft cloth (microfiber works well) with the soapy water.
- Gently wipe down affected areas. For leather sections, avoid excessive scrubbing. For textile areas, a slightly more firm, circular motion may be needed.
- Use a separate clean, damp cloth (with just water) to wipe off any soap residue.
- Allow shoes to air dry completely at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or heat sources, which can damage materials.
- Cleaning the Sole: Use a stiff brush or an old toothbrush with soapy water to scrub the rubber sole and sidewalls. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
- Odor Control: To prevent odors, allow shoes to air out after each wear. You can also use shoe deodorizers or sprinkle baking soda inside and let it sit overnight, then shake it out.
- Storage: Store your trainers in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Consider using shoe trees to help maintain their shape.
- Avoid: Do not machine wash or tumble dry, as this can damage the materials and construction.
