Simms Windstopper Foldover Mitt - Black

The Simms Windstopper Foldover Mitts are water-resistant due to the GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER® material, meaning they can repel light rain and spray. However, they are not fully waterproof and should not be submerged in water for extended periods.

To use the half-finger glove, simply fold the mitten cover back. It is designed to stow away neatly, allowing full finger dexterity. To revert to mitten mode, unfold the cover over your fingers.

The textured TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) palm overlays enhance the glove's durability in high-wear areas and provide a more secure, non-slip grip on fishing rods, reels, and other gear, especially when wet.

It is recommended to hand wash the mittens with cold water and mild soap. Avoid using bleach. Machine washing and drying can damage the GORE-TEX membrane and the fleece material.

These mitts provide excellent warmth and protection against wind and cold for general fishing applications. For extreme sub-zero conditions or prolonged exposure in very cold environments, consider specialized expedition-grade gear.

WINDSTOPPER® is a technology that makes fabric completely windproof while remaining breathable. It blocks wind chill while allowing moisture vapor to escape, keeping you warm and comfortable.

The overmitt is designed to be folded back and secured when in half-finger mode. This prevents the loose mitten material from catching on fishing lines, leaders, or other tackle, ensuring a smoother fishing experience.

Ensure you have selected the correct size. Refer to the sizing chart if available. The stretch fleece offers some give, but a significantly incorrect size may impact comfort and performance.

Check for any damage to the GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER® membrane. Ensure the fabric is clean; dirt and oils can affect performance. Follow care instructions for cleaning. Re-apply a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment if performance diminishes significantly over time.

Ensure the overmitt is folded back completely and securely into its designated position. If it consistently slips, there may be wear on the retention mechanism; consider a light stitching repair if necessary.
