The PolyX Rafter Bar (Intermediate) is designed for professional builders and DIY enthusiasts constructing self-supported roofing systems for conservatories, lean-tos, or pergolas. Its primary benefit is the ability to securely join polycarbonate sheets over long spans while maintaining a weather-tight seal, though users should note that this specific intermediate bar requires a pre-existing wall plate and eaves beam configuration to function correctly.

Yes, the bar can be cut to your desired length using a standard fine-tooth hacksaw or power saw with a non-ferrous blade.
This rafter bar is capable of supporting spans up to 6 metres, depending on the load requirements of your project.
Check that the polycarbonate sheet is fully seated in the gasket and not protruding past the locking groove.
Ensure the cap is fully engaged along the entire length of the bar and verify that the gasket is not pinched or folded during installation.
Check that your bar spacing adheres to the span charts for the specific polycarbonate thickness used.
Before installing, ensure your supporting framework is level. When measuring, account for the thermal expansion of polycarbonate by leaving a small gap at the edges of the sheet. Place the base profile onto the rafter, secure it, and apply the polycarbonate sheet. Once seated, align the snap-down cap and apply even pressure along the length of the bar until it clicks firmly into the base. To clean, use mild soap and water with a non-abrasive cloth; avoid solvent-based cleaners that could damage the finish or the integrity of the neoprene gasket.
