Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup and Application
- Prepare the Surface: Ensure the application surface is perfectly clean, dry, smooth, and free of any dust, grease, or texture. Rough or porous surfaces may require priming first.
- Measure and Cut: Measure the area you wish to cover, adding a small overlap (about 1-2 cm) on all sides for trimming. Use the grid on the backing paper as a guide for straight cuts with a sharp utility knife or scissors.
- Peel and Apply: Carefully peel back a small section of the backing paper (about 5-10 cm) from one edge. Position the exposed adhesive edge onto your surface.
- Smooth: Slowly peel away more of the backing paper with one hand, while simultaneously smoothing the film onto the surface with a squeegee or soft cloth in your other hand. Work from the center outwards or from one side to the other to push out air bubbles.
- Trim Excess: Once applied, use a sharp utility knife to carefully trim any excess film along edges or corners for a clean finish.
Compatibility
This film is compatible with most smooth, non-porous surfaces, including:
- Laminate
- Painted wood (ensure paint is fully cured and smooth)
- Melamine
- Glass
- Metal
- Smooth, painted walls (not recommended for heavily textured or freshly painted walls)
Care and Maintenance
To keep your D-C-Fix Self Adhesive Film looking its best:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the surface with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, which can damage the film.
- Spills: Wipe up spills promptly to prevent staining.
- Heat: While hardwearing, avoid placing extremely hot items directly on the film. Use trivets for hot pots and pans.
