The Element Alder 2.0 Travel Packable Waterproof Jacket is designed for adult men who need a reliable, lightweight outer layer for unpredictable weather while traveling or commuting. Its primary strength lies in its 10K/10K DWR lamination, providing excellent protection against moisture while remaining highly packable for transit. One notable caveat is that as a lightweight packable shell, it does not provide heavy thermal insulation, meaning it is best used as an outer layer over mid-layers during colder conditions.

Yes, the dense polyester construction and DWR lamination provide excellent wind-blocking properties.
The jacket features a standard fit designed for versatility, though specific adjustment features vary by model year; check the waist for cinch cords if present.
While it is waterproof, it is a shell jacket. It will protect you from snow, but you will need to wear insulating layers underneath.
Wash the garment inside out to prevent the reflective print from rubbing against other clothes or the drum of the machine.
No, the hood is permanently attached with a lycra-bound edge for a secure fit.
The fit is athletic; if you plan to wear it over bulky winter sweaters, you may want to consider sizing up.
The DWR coating is likely wearing off; re-apply a waterproof treatment spray and follow the manufacturer's reactivation instructions.
Ensure you are using the specific pocket designed for packing, usually identified by a reversible zipper pull, and fold the garment neatly rather than stuffing it.
This jacket is a straightforward shell garment. When storing, ensure the jacket is completely dry before folding it into its pocket to prevent odor or mildew buildup. For cleaning, machine wash on a gentle cycle with cold water using a technical fabric cleaner if possible. Avoid harsh detergents or bleach as they can degrade the DWR coating. For drying, hang dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources. To maintain the waterproof effectiveness over time, you may need to re-apply a DWR spray treatment after extensive use.
