Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The Trespass Tilbury Waterproof Jacket requires no complex setup. Simply unpack, adjust the cuffs and hood to your preference, and it's ready to wear.
Compatibility
This jacket is designed as an outer shell, offering protection from wind and rain. Its lightweight nature makes it highly compatible with various layering systems:
- Mild Weather: Wear over a light t-shirt or long-sleeve top.
- Cooler Weather: Combine with a fleece or mid-layer for added insulation underneath.
- Cold Weather: Layer over a thermal base layer and a warm fleece for comprehensive protection.
Care Instructions
Proper care will maintain the jacket's waterproof and breathable properties and extend its lifespan. Always check the garment's specific care label, but generally, follow these guidelines:
- Preparation: Before washing, close all zippers and fastenings. Loosen any drawcords.
- Washing: Machine wash cold (30°C or similar setting for delicates/synthetics) on a gentle cycle. Use a technical wash designed for waterproof and breathable fabrics. Avoid conventional detergents, fabric softeners, bleach, and stain removers, as these can compromise the jacket's DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish and membrane.
- Rinsing: Ensure the jacket is thoroughly rinsed to remove all detergent residue.
- Drying: Hang dry away from direct heat. Do not tumble dry unless specifically indicated on the care label and at a very low heat. Avoid direct sunlight.
- Re-proofing (Optional but Recommended): Over time, the jacket's DWR finish may wear off. If water no longer beads on the surface, you can re-apply a DWR treatment using a wash-in or spray-on product designed for technical outerwear. Follow the product's instructions carefully.
