Care & Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the appearance of your Handball Spezials, given their leather and suede components.
- Cleaning the Upper (Leather):
- For light dirt, wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth.
- For stubborn marks, use a specialized leather cleaner applied with a soft brush or cloth. Follow the cleaner's instructions carefully.
- After cleaning, let the leather air dry naturally away from direct heat.
- Cleaning the Upper (Suede):
- Use a dedicated suede brush to gently remove loose dirt and restore the nap.
- For stains, use a suede eraser or a specialized suede cleaning solution. Test on an inconspicuous area first.
- Avoid getting suede excessively wet. If it does get wet, stuff the shoes with paper to absorb moisture and let them air dry.
- Cleaning the Synthetic Details & Sole:
- Wipe synthetic areas and the rubber sole with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Rinse with a clean damp cloth.
- Drying: Always allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or tumble dryers, as high heat can damage materials.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place, ideally with shoe trees or crumpled paper inside to help maintain their shape.
- Protection: Consider applying a protective spray specifically designed for leather and suede to repel water and stains, especially before first wear.
