Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 41 is straightforward:
- Unpack: Remove the shoes from their packaging.
- Lace Up: Insert your foot and adjust the laces for a snug, comfortable fit. Ensure laces are not too tight to avoid pressure points, but secure enough to prevent heel slippage.
- Break-In Period: While often comfortable out of the box, allow for a few short runs (20-30 minutes) to fully break in the shoes and allow them to conform to your foot.
Compatibility
- Running Surfaces: Best suited for road, track, and light trail surfaces.
- Foot Type: Generally designed for neutral pronation, but can accommodate mild pronation/supination depending on individual needs.
- Apparel: Compatible with standard running socks and athletic wear.
Care
Proper care extends the life of your running shoes:
- Cleaning:
- Remove laces and insoles.
- Use a soft brush or cloth with mild soap and cold water to gently scrub the upper and sole.
- Avoid harsh detergents or machine washing, as this can damage materials.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Do not put them in a dryer.
- Drying:
- Stuff the shoes with newspaper or paper towels to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Air dry at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Allow them to fully dry between uses to prevent odor and material degradation.
- Rotation: If you run frequently, consider rotating between two pairs of shoes to allow each pair to fully decompress and extend their lifespan.
