Setup, Compatibility & Care
This section outlines the essential steps for preparing, using, and maintaining your hair color for the best possible results.
Setup
- Perform a Patch Test: Always conduct an allergy patch test 48 hours before full application. Apply a small amount of the mixed product to a clean area of skin, such as behind the ear or inner elbow. Do not wash, cover, or disturb the area. If any reaction occurs, do not use the product.
- Perform a Strand Test: To predict your final color result and processing time, apply the dye to a small, hidden section of hair first. This helps avoid unexpected outcomes.
- Gather Supplies: Protect your clothing with an old towel, wear the provided gloves, and have a timer ready. Ensure your hair is dry and untangled before you begin.
- Mixing: Follow the instructions on the product leaflet precisely to mix the colorant and developer. Do not deviate from the specified ratios.
Compatibility
- Age Group: Designed for adult use.
- Hair Types: Suitable for most hair types, though results may vary based on your starting hair color, texture, and porosity.
- Previous Treatments: Not recommended for use on hair that has been bleached, highlighted, or chemically permed within 1-2 weeks of treatment. > Info needed: Consult product leaflet for specific wait times and recommendations for chemically treated hair.
Care
- Rinsing: After coloring, rinse your hair thoroughly with lukewarm water until the water runs clear. This ensures all excess dye is removed.
- Conditioning: Apply the included conditioning treatment to lock in color, add shine, and nourish your hair. Leave it on for the recommended time before rinsing.
- Color-Safe Products: Use shampoos and conditioners specifically designed for color-treated hair to prolong vibrancy and prevent premature fading.
- Washing Frequency: Minimize frequent washing with hot water, as this can strip color. Opt for cooler water and wash less often if possible.
- Protection: Protect your hair from excessive sun exposure, chlorine, and saltwater, which can fade or alter your hair color over time. Consider wearing a hat when outdoors for prolonged periods.
