Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Unroll and Position: Carefully unroll the Jazz Shaggy Rug in your desired location. It's best placed on a clean, dry, and level floor surface.
- Flattening: If the rug has creases from packaging, gently reverse roll the affected areas or lay it flat and give it time to settle. Placing heavy, flat objects on the corners for a day or two can also help it lie completely flat.
- Optional Rug Pad: For added stability and to prevent slipping, especially on hard floors, consider placing a non-slip rug pad underneath. This also provides extra cushioning and helps extend the rug's life.
Compatibility
The black color of the Jazz Shaggy Rug offers versatile compatibility with a wide range of interior designs, from modern minimalist to classic or industrial styles. Its durable, easy-clean, and stain-resistant qualities make it suitable for:
- Living Rooms: Adds comfort and defines seating areas.
- Bedrooms: Provides warmth and softness underfoot.
- Hallways & Entryways: Withstands high foot traffic effectively.
- Dining Areas: Resists spills and wear from chairs.
Care
- Regular Vacuuming: Vacuum regularly with a brush-less attachment to lift the shaggy pile and remove dirt and debris. Avoid using powerful rotating brush bars directly on the shaggy pile, as this can damage the fibers. Vacuum in different directions to ensure thorough cleaning and to help maintain fluffiness.
- Spot Cleaning Spills: For spills, act quickly. Blot the affected area immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this can spread the stain. For tougher spots, use a small amount of mild soap mixed with water. Apply to a clean cloth and gently dab the stain, then blot dry with another clean, dry cloth. Test any cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area first.
- Deep Cleaning: For a more thorough clean, professional rug cleaning is recommended periodically. Consult a professional cleaner who specializes in synthetic fiber rugs.
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: While colour-fast, prolonged exposure to intense direct sunlight over many years can still affect the color over time. Rotate the rug periodically to ensure even wear and exposure.
- No Bleach or Harsh Chemicals: Do not use bleach or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can damage the polypropylene fibers and affect the color.
