Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
This cassette is designed to fit standard splined freehub bodies. Installation typically involves sliding the cassette onto the freehub body and securing it with a lockring, which requires a cassette lockring tool and a chain whip for proper tightening. Ensure you are using a compatible 12-speed SRAM Eagle chain and rear derailleur for optimal shifting performance.
Compatibility:
- Speeds: 12-speed
- Gear Range: 11-50T
- Freehub Body: Compatible with standard splined freehub bodies.
- Chain: Compatible with SRAM Eagle chain technology.
- Drivetrain Configuration: Primarily for 1x (single chainring) setups.
- Not Compatible With: SRAM T-Type drivetrains.
Care:
Regular cleaning is essential for maintaining shifting performance and prolonging the life of your cassette. After rides, especially in wet or muddy conditions, clean the cassette with a degreaser and a brush to remove dirt and grime. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before applying a suitable chain lubricant. Inspect the cogs periodically for wear; if they appear hooked or excessively worn, consider replacing the affected speed-limit cogs or the entire cassette if wear is widespread. Ensure the chain is also kept clean and lubricated.
