Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the application surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and old sealant.
- Cut the nozzle tip to the desired bead size using a sharp blade.
- Pierce the inner foil seal of the cartridge.
- Load the cartridge into a standard silicone sealant gun.
- Apply the sealant evenly using the gun, maintaining consistent pressure.
- Tool the bead immediately after application using a damp cloth or a specialized tooling spatula for a smooth finish.
Compatibility:
This silicone is specifically formulated for PVCu and roofline applications. It adheres well to common building materials found in these areas, including PVCu, painted wood, brick, concrete, and metal. Always test on a small, inconspicuous area if unsure about compatibility with a specific surface.
Care:
- Keep the nozzle sealed when not in use to prevent the sealant from curing in the cartridge.
- Store cartridges in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Clean up any excess uncured sealant immediately with a damp cloth. Cured sealant can be removed mechanically or with a suitable solvent.
