Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Initial Setup & Break-In
When you first receive your Birkenstock Arizona sandals, the cork-latex footbed will be firm. It is essential to break them in gradually to allow the footbed to conform to your unique foot shape. Start by wearing them for short periods, such as 30 minutes to an hour, each day for the first few weeks. This process allows the cork to warm and mold, ensuring you achieve the renowned Birkenstock comfort.
Compatibility
These sandals are designed for adults in a UK size 6.5. Their timeless black design makes them highly versatile, compatible with a wide range of casual attire including shorts, jeans, skirts, and dresses. They are particularly beneficial for individuals prioritizing robust arch support and overall foot stability in their daily footwear.
Care & Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and comfort of your Birkenstock Arizona sandals, follow these care guidelines:
- Cleaning the Birko-Flor® Upper: Wipe the straps with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap. Avoid using harsh chemicals. For more stubborn dirt, a soft brush can be used gently. Allow the sandals to air dry completely, away from direct heat or sunlight.
- Cleaning the Microfiber Insole: Over time, the insole may show signs of wear or darken. Use a damp cloth with a mild soap solution or a specialized footbed cleaner. Gently scrub with a soft brush, then wipe clean and air dry. Avoid oversaturating the cork underneath.
- Cork Sealer (Optional): To protect the cork footbed from drying out and cracking, periodically apply a thin layer of Birkenstock brand cork sealer. This is typically recommended once or twice a year, depending on the frequency of wear and environmental conditions.
- Avoiding Extreme Conditions: Do not expose your Birkenstocks to extreme heat (e.g., leaving them in a hot car) or prolonged water submersion, as these can damage the cork and adhesives. If they get wet, allow them to air dry slowly and naturally.
- Proper Storage: Store your sandals in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
