Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Karrimor 3 in 1 Jacket is straightforward.
- Assemble/Disassemble: To combine the shell and fleece, simply align the zippers and loops (usually at the collar and cuffs) to secure the fleece inside the shell. Reverse this process to separate them.
- Adjusting Fit: Utilize the elastic drawstrings on the hood and waist to customize the fit. Pull gently to tighten and press the release button (if present) to loosen. This helps to trap warmth and prevent wind and rain ingress.
- Hood Management: The hood is designed to be concealable. Locate the opening, typically at the back of the collar, where it can be rolled up and stowed away when not required.
Compatibility
The jacket's design is inherently compatible with layering. Its spacious cut accommodates mid-layers beneath the fleece or shell, allowing you to further adjust your warmth for colder conditions. The fleece itself can be worn over base layers for standalone warmth.
Care Instructions
Proper care is crucial for maintaining the jacket's waterproof and breathable properties and extending its lifespan.
- Washing: Always refer to the specific care label instructions found inside your jacket. Generally, it is machine washable. Use a technical wash designed for waterproof outerwear if possible, or a gentle detergent. Avoid fabric softeners as they can impair waterproofing.
- Drying: Air dry the jacket whenever possible. Avoid high heat, as this can damage the waterproof membrane.
- Heat Warning: Keep away from fire. The materials used, particularly the synthetic shell, can be flammable or melt when exposed to direct heat.
- Waterproofing Re-treatment: Over time, the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish on the outer shell may wear off. If water starts to soak into the fabric instead of beading up, consider re-treating the jacket with a DWR spray or wash-in product specifically designed for waterproof garments.
