Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Compatibility: Always verify that the NGK DCPR8EKC (7168) spark plug is listed as a replacement part for your specific vehicle's make, model, and year before installation. Consult your vehicle's owner's manual or a qualified mechanic.
Installation:
- Ensure the engine is cool.
- Carefully remove the spark plug wire or coil from the existing spark plug.
- Use a 16 mm spanner to unscrew and remove the old spark plug.
- Check Electrode Gap: Before installing the new spark plug, verify the electrode gap is set to your vehicle's specification (often 0.9 mm, but always confirm). Adjust if necessary using a proper gapping tool.
- Screw the new spark plug in by hand to avoid cross-threading.
- Tighten the spark plug using the 16 mm spanner. Do not overtighten; consult torque specifications if available.
- Reattach the spark plug wire or coil.
Care: Spark plugs are wear items and do not require regular maintenance beyond checking the gap during tune-ups. Replacement is recommended at intervals specified by your vehicle manufacturer.
