Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Preparation: Ensure the engine is off and cool before starting.
- Removal: Remove the old spark plug using the correct size wrench.
- Installation: Carefully install the NGK AP7FS spark plug by hand to avoid cross-threading. Then, tighten it to the manufacturer's torque specifications using a torque wrench.
Compatibility
The NGK AP7FS is compatible with engines that require an M18 x 1.5 thread size and a 20.8 mm spanner size. Always consult your engine's manual to confirm the correct spark plug type.
Care
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the spark plug for wear, damage, or fouling.
- Cleaning: Clean the spark plug if necessary, using a wire brush or spark plug cleaner.
- Replacement: Replace the spark plug at the intervals recommended by the engine manufacturer.
- Gaping: Check the gap between the electrodes and adjust if necessary, using a spark plug gapping tool. Ensure the gap matches your engine's specifications.
