FAQs

Are these shoes suitable for running or gym use?

No, the Altman Trainers are designed as lifestyle fashion footwear and do not provide the technical support or material durability required for athletic activities.

Can I wash these in a machine?

Absolutely not. Machine washing will ruin the satin material and the structural integrity of the shoe.

How do I determine the right size?

These trainers follow standard adult UK sizing. We recommend ordering your usual size, but consult the official size chart if you are between sizes.

Is the satin material water-resistant?

Satin is not inherently water-resistant. It is recommended to avoid exposure to liquids to prevent spotting.

How should I store these trainers?

Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a dust bag to prevent the satin from catching dust or fading.

Troubleshooting

Visible dust or debris on the satin surface

Use a soft-bristled garment brush and gently stroke the fabric in the direction of the grain.

Creasing at the toe box

Insert shoe trees immediately after taking them off to help the material recover its shape.

Laces fraying or becoming loose

Replace with high-quality wax-coated cotton laces to match the original aesthetic of the shoe.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Sophisticated satin material provides a distinct, high-end appearance.
Minimalist design pairs well with both casual and formal attire.
Sturdy lace-up construction ensures a reliable and secure fit.
Integrated tongue pull loop adds practical utility for daily wear.

Cons

Satin material is susceptible to staining and snags compared to leather.
Requires more frequent cleaning to maintain the fabric's appearance.
Limited to specific aesthetic styles due to the premium fabric choice.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your Altman Trainers retain their shape, use a cedar shoe tree when not in use. Compatibility is broad, though they are specifically sized for an adult male foot; users should verify their standard UK sizing prior to purchase as the fit is standard to the luxury fashion industry. For care, gently spot clean the satin with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes, as these can pull the fibers and permanently damage the finish of the satin fabric.
