Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure you get the best results and extend the life of your NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer, follow these guidelines for setup, compatibility, and care:
Setup & Application
- Prep Your Skin: Always begin with a clean, moisturized face. For the under-eye area, ensure you've applied a hydrating eye cream and allowed it to fully absorb. For drier skin types, a hydrating primer or a richer moisturizer is recommended to prevent the matte finish from clinging to dry patches.
- Gather Tools: You can use a clean fingertip (the warmth aids blending), a synthetic concealer brush, or a small, damp beauty sponge.
- Product Application: Pick up only a small amount of product initially; its full coverage means a little goes a long way. Dot the concealer directly onto the area you wish to conceal.
- Blend Gently: Use gentle patting or tapping motions to blend the concealer outwards, ensuring seamless integration with your skin. Avoid rubbing, as this can disrupt coverage or create streaks.
- Build Layers: For more intense coverage, apply additional thin layers, allowing each layer to settle for a moment before adding more.
Compatibility
- Foundation: This concealer pairs well with both matte and natural-finish foundations. If you use a dewy foundation, apply this concealer after to maintain its matte effect in specific areas without compromising the overall dewy look.
- Skin Type: While versatile, its matte finish makes it ideally suited for normal, combination, and oily skin types. Users with very dry skin might need to ensure extra hydration beneath to prevent it from looking patchy or emphasizing dryness.
- Other Products: Compatible with most skincare products, primers, setting powders, and setting sprays. Always apply skincare and primer first, then foundation (if using), then concealer.
Care & Maintenance
- Storage: Store the concealer in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to maintain its creamy consistency and prevent drying out.
- Hygiene: Always use clean fingers or a clean brush when applying to prevent bacterial contamination. Regularly clean your makeup brushes to maintain product integrity and ensure hygienic application.
- Closing: Ensure the lid is securely closed after each use to prevent air exposure, which can dry out the product.
