Care
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your Merrell Intercept shoes:
- Cleaning the Leather Upper:
- Brush off loose dirt with a soft brush (e.g., an old toothbrush) or damp cloth.
- For tougher dirt, use a specialized leather cleaner according to product instructions.
- Avoid harsh detergents or machine washing, which can damage the leather.
- Caring for the Mesh Lining:
- Use a damp cloth and mild soap to gently clean the mesh.
- Ensure the mesh is fully dry before storing.
- Sole Cleaning:
- Remove mud and debris from the Vibram sole using a brush or stick to maintain optimal traction.
- Rinse with water if necessary.
- Drying:
- Always allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature.
- Avoid direct heat sources (radiators, hairdryers) as they can crack and damage leather.
- Stuffing with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Leather Conditioning:
- Periodically apply a quality leather conditioner or protective spray suitable for full-grain leather to keep it supple and prevent cracking. Follow product instructions.
- Storage:
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
