Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup & Adjustments
These rain trousers are designed for straightforward use:
- Waist Adjustment: Utilize the elasticated waistband and internal drawcord to achieve a secure and comfortable fit around your waist. Ensure it's snug enough to prevent slipping but loose enough for comfort.
- Leg Opening Adjustment: The lower-leg zippers allow you to open the leg wide for easy donning and doffing, especially over hiking boots. Once on, use the hook-and-loop adjustments at the leg openings to cinch the fit, preventing water from splashing up and ensuring a snug seal around your footwear. This also helps reduce flapping in windy conditions.
Compatibility
- The Antora Rain Trousers are designed as an outer layer and are compatible with various base and mid-layers. Their sizing is intended to accommodate these layers comfortably.
- The wide leg openings with zippers are specifically designed to fit over most hiking boots, making them practical for quick changes on the trail.
Care Instructions
Proper care is crucial for maintaining the performance and longevity of your Antora Rain Trousers. Follow these guidelines:
- Washing: Machine wash your trousers using a mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners, as they can impair the fabric's waterproof and breathable properties. Use a gentle cycle with cold or warm water.
- Drying: Tumble dry on a low heat setting. Over-drying or using high heat can damage the fabric's membrane and DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish.
- Re-treatment: Over time, the DWR finish may wear off, causing water to "wet out" the fabric surface instead of beading up. To restore this water repellency, you will need to re-treat the garment using a spray-on or wash-in DWR product specifically designed for technical waterproof fabrics. Follow the instructions on the re-treatment product carefully.
- Storage: Store the trousers clean and dry in a cool, well-ventilated area.
