Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup & First Use
- Unpack: Remove the duffel from its packaging and unfold it.
- Inspect: Check all zippers, buckles, and seams for proper function and any signs of damage.
- Deploy Harness (Optional): If you plan to use the backpack straps, locate the zippered compartment where they are stowed. Unzip, pull out the straps, and attach any quick-release buckles if necessary. Adjust the shoulder straps and sternum strap for a comfortable fit.
- Load Evenly: Distribute weight evenly within the duffel to maintain balance and comfort during carrying.
Compatibility
- Travel: Primarily designed for checked baggage due to its 95-liter volume. Always verify specific airline size and weight restrictions before departure.
- Adventure: Highly compatible with various outdoor and travel adventures requiring robust gear transport, from vehicle-supported expeditions to international journeys.
- Storage: Its pliable structure allows for some compression when empty, making it manageable for storage in closets or garages.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your Transporter™ Duffel 95.
- Empty the duffel completely.
- Wipe down the exterior and interior with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild, non-detergent soap.
- For stubborn dirt, use a soft brush to gently scrub.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water, ensuring no soap residue remains. Do not submerge the duffel.
- Air dry completely in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Ensure it is bone dry before storing to prevent mildew.
*Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron, or bleach.*
- Storage: Store your duffel in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Ensure it is clean and completely dry to prevent odors or material degradation.
- Zippers: Periodically clean zipper teeth of any debris. If zippers become stiff, apply a silicone-based zipper lubricant or even a small amount of graphite from a pencil to the teeth.
- Water Resistance: While highly water-resistant, it is not fully waterproof. Avoid prolonged exposure to heavy, continuous rain, and do not submerge it. Re-applying a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) spray designed for synthetic fabrics can refresh its water repellency over time.
