The McAlpine SP10W is a professional-grade basin trap designed for plumbers and homeowners seeking a reliable solution to connect basin waste to drainage systems while preventing odors from entering the room. Featuring a deep 75mm water seal and a versatile multifit outlet, it offers exceptional flexibility for various piping materials and installation configurations. While it is built for durability and ease of use, users should ensure their current basin configuration supports a 1.25-inch connection before beginning installation.

It fits most standard basins that utilize a 1.25-inch waste connection.
Yes, the multifit outlet is specifically designed to be compatible with plastic, copper, and lead pipes.
These refer to the shape of the pipe run from the wall or floor. The adjustable swivel allows you to set the trap to exit in whichever direction your plumbing requires.
Yes, the kit includes a 60mm polished stainless steel waste flange and center pin.
It is recommended to clean the trap whenever you notice slow drainage or periodically during routine bathroom maintenance.
Ensure the internal O-ring is seated correctly and that the compression nut is tightened evenly.
Unscrew the bottom trap section to remove hair or soap scum buildup that may be obstructing the flow.
Check that the trap is filled with water; if it has been dry for a long period, run the faucet for a few seconds.
To install, ensure the basin is clean and the waste hole is free of debris. Use the included center pin to secure the stainless steel flange to the basin drain. Apply the provided dry jointing washers on both sides of the basin to prevent leaks. When connecting to your waste pipe, slide the multifit nut over the pipe, insert the pipe into the outlet, and tighten firmly by hand. Avoid over-tightening with tools, as this can crack the plastic components. Periodically check the trap for blockages by unscrewing the bottom sump to clear debris, ensuring the water seal remains intact.
