Care Instructions
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your Regatta Andreson VIII Hybrid Jacket.
Washing
- Read the Label: Always refer to the care label inside the jacket for specific instructions.
- Prepare: Close all zippers and fasteners. Turn the jacket inside out to protect the outer surface.
- Machine Wash: Wash on a gentle cycle with cold or lukewarm water (max 30°C/86°F).
- Detergent: Use a mild, non-biological liquid detergent. Avoid fabric softeners, bleach, or harsh chemicals, as these can impair the water-repellent coating and fabric performance.
- Rinse Thoroughly: Ensure all detergent is rinsed out to prevent residue build-up.
Drying
- Air Dry: Hang the jacket to air dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or excessive heat. This is the best method to preserve the fabric and coating.
- Avoid Tumble Drying: Tumble drying can damage the insulation and water-repellent coating. If absolutely necessary, use a very low heat setting and remove promptly.
Storage
- Store your jacket in a cool, dry place. Ensure it is completely dry before storing to prevent mildew.
- Avoid compressing it for extended periods if possible, to maintain the loft of the insulation, though its compressible nature is a key benefit for short-term packing.
Re-proofing
Over time, the water-repellent coating may diminish. If water no longer beads off the surface effectively, consider using a wash-in or spray-on re-proofing product designed for technical outerwear. Follow the product's instructions carefully.
