Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Unroll the Rug: Carefully unroll your Jazz Shaggy Rug in the desired location. It may initially have slight creases or curl at the edges from packaging.
- Flattening: To help it lie flat quickly, gently reverse-roll the rug for a short period, or place heavy, flat objects (like books or furniture legs) on the curled sections overnight. Give it 24-48 hours to fully settle.
- Placement: Ensure the rug is placed on a clean, dry floor. Using a rug pad underneath is recommended to prevent slipping and provide extra cushioning, especially on hard surfaces.
Compatibility
The Jazz Shaggy Rug's versatile design and robust construction make it compatible with various indoor settings. Its shaggy texture is well-suited for adding warmth and style to modern or contemporary decor. It pairs beautifully with neutral furniture or can serve as a calming accent with bolder colours. While suitable for most rooms, consider its high pile height when placing under doors that swing inward or under rolling office chairs.
Care and Maintenance
- Regular Vacuuming: Vacuum regularly to remove loose dirt and dust. For shaggy rugs, use a suction-only attachment or a vacuum cleaner with an adjustable beater bar set to its highest setting. Avoid aggressive brushing, as this can damage the pile. Vacuum in different directions to reach all areas of the deep pile.
- Spot Cleaning: For spills, blot immediately with a clean, dry white cloth. Do not rub, as this can spread the stain. For tougher spots, use a mild rug cleaner or a solution of mild soap and water applied sparingly to a cloth, then blot the area. Always test cleaners on an inconspicuous part of the rug first.
- Deep Cleaning: For overall cleaning or stubborn stains, professional rug cleaning is recommended every 1-2 years, depending on traffic.
- Rotation: Rotate your rug every 3-6 months to ensure even wear and exposure to sunlight.
- Shedding: Initial shedding is normal for new rugs and will decrease over time with regular vacuuming. This is not a defect.
