Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the iron is unplugged and cool.
- Open the water tank cap.
- Fill the water tank to the indicated maximum level using a measuring cup or directly from the tap (if your water is soft, see below).
- Close the water tank cap securely.
- Plug the iron into a suitable power outlet.
- Select the appropriate temperature setting for your fabric using the thermostat dial.
Compatibility:
This iron is suitable for use with tap water. However, for best results and to prolong the life of your iron, especially in hard water areas, it is recommended to use a mix of 50% tap water and 50% demineralized or distilled water.
Care:
- After Each Use: Empty the water tank completely before storing the iron.
- Cleaning the Soleplate: Allow the iron to cool down. Wipe the soleplate with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn residues, use a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for iron soleplates, or a damp cloth with a drop of mild soap. Never use harsh chemicals or abrasive pads.
- Anti-Calc System: Your iron is equipped with an anti-calc system. To maintain its effectiveness, refer to the specific descaling instructions in the user manual (typically involving activating the steam boost function with a full tank of water and holding the iron horizontally over a sink until the water runs clear, or using a dedicated descaling solution if recommended).
- Storage: Store the iron upright on its heel rest, ensuring the cord is loosely wrapped and not tightly wound around the iron.
